Public Health Leader | Epidemiologist | Educator
Dr. Kimberly R. Taylor is a nationally recognized public health leader with over 27 years of experience as an Epidemiologist, specializing in program management, behavioral and environmental health surveillance, infectious and chronic diseases, and bioterrorism. She has led large-scale public health initiatives at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), managed multi-million-dollar program portfolios, and provided expert advice to local, state, federal, and tribal partners on chronic and infectious disease prevention, school health, and evaluation.
Her extensive career includes serving as Project Manager and Senior Epidemiologist across multiple CDC divisions through federal contracting agencies. Dr. Taylor has also contributed to the CDC’s Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System and other national surveillance platforms, which have influenced policy, practice, and public health infrastructure.
An accomplished Educator, Dr. Taylor teaches graduate and undergraduate public health courses at Georgia State University and Dartmouth College and has previously served as an Adjunct Professor at Tulane University, Strayer University, and Morehouse College. She has also developed graduate-level curricula focused on violence prevention and substance use.
Dr. Taylor holds a PhD in Public Health (Epidemiology) from Walden University, an MS in Epidemiological Science from the University of Michigan, an MPH in Health Administration from East Tennessee State University, and a BS in Biology from Clark Atlanta University. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and she has presented nationally on various topics, including sexually transmitted diseases, behavioral health, school-based health, and asthma.
